Nabatean architecture refers to the building traditions of the Nabateans in Jordan. It includes the temple and tombs of Petra in the sandstone cliffs of Jordan’s Negev desert. The style appears a mix of Mesopotamian and Hellenistic (Greek) influences.〔Temples and Tombs of Petra Approach Guide〕 Much of the surviving architecture was excavated out of rock cliffs. So the columns do not actually support anything.〔(The Rough Guide to Jordan ) by Matthew Telle〕 Ceramics and coins wer also part of the culture.〔(Retrieving the Past: Essays on Archaeological Research and Methodology in Honor of Gus W. Van Beek ) by Joe D. Seger Eisenbrauns, 1996〕 In addition to the most famous sites in Petra, there are also Nabatean complexes at Obodas (Avdat) and residential complexes at Mampsis (Kurnub) and a religious site of et-Tannur.〔(Herod: King of the Jews and Friend of the Romans ) by Peter Richardson page 65〕 ==Gallery== File:20100922 umaljamal68.jpg|Nabataean temple ruins at Umm al Jamal File:Engraving khazneh petra 1836.jpg|''Ruins of Selah (Petra)'' engraving dated 1836 File:The Renaissance Tomb (12293951654).jpg|Renaissance Tomb File:The tombs of the Street of Façades (12302251164).jpg|Nabatean "street" File:T E Lawrence and the Arab Revolt 1916 - 1918 Q59686.jpg|General view of the Nabataean tombs in the Jebel Itlib at Medain Saleh pre-1914 File:20100925 petra230a.jpg|A carved sandstone elephant capital circa 1st—2nd century CE from the Petra Archaeological Museum in Jordan File:Obelisk Tomb and Triclinium.jpg|Obelisk Tomb and Bab el-Siq Triclinium in Petra, Jordan File:Blue Chapel, Petra 02.jpg|Blue Chapel in Petra, dated to 5th-6th century File:Blue Chapel, Petra 02 Capitello nabateo.jpg|Blue Chapel capital detail File:Petra Jordan BW 21.JPG|Al Khazneh 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Nabataean architecture」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
